I had this recommended to me by a friend. I was a little hesitant because of the one-named author and narrator(just seems pretentious.) I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying it. The main character is a huge departure from the spellsword trope, which I found very refreshing. Also, since it doesn’t take place in a game, it gave me a similar feel to The Land or The Trapped Mind Project. No breaks for real-life drama.
The main character is written well– not overly sure of himself or a whiny b***h.
I have 2 complaints:
1) At the start, limbs lost were pretty much permanent but later could regenerate when the MC lost a limb.
2) The ending. The story just stops with too many loose ends.
Otherwise, I really liked it.
