OMG!!!!! this was the absolute WORST!!! Save your credit and time from your life. I should have stopped. I HATED the narrator he read as if he was on tranquilizers soooo slow it was horrible. Thought I’d adjust to the slowness of his read. NO!!!! And onto the story was absolutely the stupidest boring story..

The narrator ruined this book. No emotion. Very monotone. He could have tried a little harder.

Rarely wrote reviews. Try to be an “ if you can’t say anything nice…“ kind of person. But this is just toxic and not entertaining. Skip.

Goodness gracious… Akron is not a hard city to pronounce but the narrator pronounced it wrong EVERY TIME. I sure hope he doesn’t narrate any books about foreign cities considering he can’t even say domestic ones correctly.

Similarly to the self-righteous, yet infinitely more interesting Dreamland, this book is full of obnoxious, flowery platitudes followed immediately by judgmental language and terminology that conveys no compassion whatsoever. The author still calls addicts “junkies” most of the time, while acknowledging in other parts that terms like “junkie” are problematic. He still calls sex workers..

Narater was very monotone. At times, sounded like he was tired of talking. Just my personal preference may not bother others. A lot of chapters about neurology and neuroscience which is not what I thought I was buying. Disappointed

Incredibly dull and hard to follow. Unfortunately i couldn’t get past chapter 3 and decided to archive it. Something I’ve never done before.

The story is excellent. The narrator mispronounces many, many words. Even fentanyl, which is core to the book.
