This book seems well-meaning. I’m sure that many people (especially women over 70) will find it compelling. I found it so-so. It’s heart is in the right place… but that’s neither necessary nor difficult for a good novel.
A full cast of characters can make narration exciting. But some of the narrative choices — especially the accents (especial the New York / Italian-American accent) were horribly overdone.
