The thing I could not stand was the authors trying to get their message across in parables. That’s Jesus’s schtick.
On a subject like this I want straight talk. AI computers may make smarter versions of themselves. They can subtly acquire small sections thousands of other computers in tandem. They can all think in machine language much faster than words. And they can do this 24/7, They could breach any database, financial to biological. They could create a virus that would kill all humans, an extinction event. The only hope is writing to leaders if your country to establish agreements with other countries that the world will stop moving toward super-intelligence. The guardrails won’t hold. And no one country can win.
There’s a chance that AI could be benevolent. But we can’t count on it.
