The world expands massively between the political games and the bigger picture of what the crawl is doing to everyone involved. The narrative gets dark, the floor mechanics get way more complex, and the sheer desperation of the crawlers can be felt.
Of course, the audio production takes that incredible story and elevates it. Jeff Hays proves yet again why he is the best in the business. The way he captures the fracturing emotional weight of the characters while maintaining his flawless comedic timing is unmatched. As with all my other reviews; his performance ruins other audiobooks because the standard here is just set so high.
It’s ok, we know you’re invested now. Keep going.
