I guess I don’t get this type of story. ‘loot’ boxes are a clear indication of writer ex machina. They write themselves into a corner and whip these out to correct their laziness.

Jeff Hays reading style for Carl sounds like an asthmatic Keanu Reeves. It gets irritating fast. It also reminds me of Patrick Warburton on “The Tick” only less entertaining.
