I heard this was a self published success so I was curious. It is spectacular. It’s deep and emotional (so much so that I had to take a break because it was so heavy at one point). When there is action is gripping and fast paced. The magic system is very fun, think benders from Avatar but the main characters are ice benders. There are more themes here than I can fit into this review. Cards are laid down early and they pay off well, some that I didn’t even realize were played until the twist or reveal. Also the narrator is very talented in my opinion and the way he portrays some of the toddler side characters makes them adorable. I highly recommend this book.
