This book had potential. I’ve really enjoyed other series from authors like Cassandra Clare and Michelle Madow that also dealt with vampires, magic, and the supernatural. But this one felt lacking in some way. There was not a lot of depth to the characters. One minute she was in her world, the next in a completely new world and she seemed fine with it. All the while falling for the hunky vampire at the same time. I think had there been more substance to their interactions, I would have had more buy-in. As it was, I only made it through book one and finally stopped trying partway through book two. I will give props for it being clean, though, which I appreciate. (At least it was as far book two.)
While I often enjoy YA novels, this almost feels like it was written for a younger audience.
