I haven’t read a vampire romantasy in a while and then premise of this one definitely pulled me in. While this one was a little slow to the start for me (could have been my mood problem) I ended up hooked into the story and really did enjoy it. I did an immersive read for this one. This one is single narration by Cecily Foster, and she did a great job with the story.

In a world where witches and vampires are enemies, Samara (a void) has made a bargain with a vampire. She has been raised to despise vampires and even though she made that bargain, she is struggling with whether or not she can actually trust him.

Raphael is a ruthless and broody vampire that is also fiercely protective. The more time that Samara and Raphael spend on their journey, the more the tension and chemistry builds. I absolutely loved the emotional buildup to this one.

I felt like the world building was easy to follow and is dark and atmospheric. We have lots of slow burn tension, a morally grey MMC, an FMC that is learning to step into her own strength, secrets, betrayal, and that ending? I definitely did not expect that and immediately need the next book!

Definitely recommend you give this one a shot! Huge thank you to Scarlett Press and NetGalley for the copy to read.
