The most exciting thing about this book was the very thing that largely ruined it for me (no spoiler): the book feels so rushed and things are spiraling so fast that you start to wonder if this is the final book in the series. And then you check hours remaining, and you say, nah, and then the plot bogs down in a way that feels like it should be the end of the possibly the penultimate book, but you check again, and there’s two hours left, and you start to think, maybe he really is just going to wrap up the whole darn series. Nope. Just two more hours of your life in Carl’s World. It’s still an enjoyable two hours, but largely unnecessary.
