The whole story felt like a remix of the same old formula without anything new: while there might be cars and he might want to make it look like Mario Cart, the races are repetitive and boring, the “bosses” are as relevant to the plot as any comment on Reddit, and the the arc of the characters (anything that is not donut) felt empty.
The end felt also weak, like throwing a d20 and saying: sure, that makes sense because, why not? they are going to buy my books anyways.
You can Skip this whole book and you wouldn’t lose any important information. A plot summary of 3 sentences can resume the arc and you don’t loose anything in the middle.
The audible guys are, as always, amazing.
