I would have wept.

This adventure that Josh and Paul so masterfully crafted was absolutely the purest of joy, excitement, adrenaline spikes, anger, sadness, contemplative pauses that most often were closed with a warm smile on my face or a sense of righteous anger, and more than a few times, “Oh my Hod!! You’ve got to be kidding me!!” Those were also good moments. I started with this series Terran Scout Fleet, but it didn’t take long before a petulant, punk named Jacob Brown convinced me that I HAD TO DISCOVER an incredibly crafted character from the Omega Force series, Captain Jason Burke.

Josh crafted some amazing characters in both of these series and through both series he developed them in both a natural and for some a very surprising but absolutely fantastic way.

I honestly cannot give this series and the Omega Force series their proper due. For individuals who have picked apart this aspect or that aspect, I don’t give them the benefit of half an exhale from my lungs because there are issues and the issues are those type of people. This series and Omega Force were wonderful. Did I get frustrated with this character or that character st time? Of course!!! What good mood doesn’t rattle your chains here and there? But Noah has the skill to that those moments that frustrate you and tie it to something so much deeper and relevant.
I’m not a super smart guy, but in my mind, that’s what separates those who write for the sake of writing and those who are crafting art that becomes adventure that becomes a connection with characters far beyond our timeline and scope of understanding, and in that place Josh with the incredibly talented Paul Heitsch bless us with the one thing we want without even knowing it sometimes –

CONNECTION

As with Josh’s literary talent/craft, I cannot even begin to describe the vocal diversity, tonal changes character voice printing that drives the emotion of the moment deep into your heart. As mentioned I’m not that smart, but I used “voice printing” and by that, I mean that he nailed down the voice print of all these important characters so well that it literally flowed from one series to another. Who the heck does that?!?!?????!??

Paul does and he does it with such genuineness and precision and emotive stirrings that develop into such a deep connection with the characters of this and the Omega Rising series. Paul has likely forgotten more narrative skills than 90% of Audible narrators will ever even possess.

I will close my review and again I do with frustratingly bothersome angst. I truly feel like I could not give this series nor Omega Force the reviews they deserve, but I’ve done my best here and if I hope one single thing, it will be that you will enjoy these series as much as I did. That you will experience the joy and laughter and the fostering moments too, because the all coalesce into a very enjoyable experience.

I’m gonna miss you Lucky, Tin Man, and Caroline. You guys were my absolute favorites. I could listen to entire series devoted to those 3 marvelous characters.

Thank you Josh and Paul!

(And yeah, I’m not smart but I’m not dumb and I know the author and narrator will not see my words of gratitude but that does nothing to lessen the significance of my gratefulness.)

I wish you all well.
