I love the book and the character development. I wish I had continued to write letters throughout my life, but I became conflicted about whether she was someone I liked. She was strong and determined, but withdrawn and isolated. I found myself seeing if behaviors fit disorders. I realized that my judgment and appraisal were faulty; she was well developed. She had everything many strive for in Western society. She knew who she was. She was driven and loyal yet broken and isolated. Maybe this resonated as a reflection.
