Not what I expected at all. I just finished the latest Dungeon Crawler Carl and the change of pace/difference in character personalities and overall detail make this book feel like a let-down. Which is not a fair review of the book itself. So, read this before that series so you can properly appreciate it for what it is.

This book is very well done. The narration could be a little better, sometimes I can’t tell who is supposed to be talking because the narrator forgets to switch character voices. It’s fast paced and very much a serious novel. The themes it touches on(and the themes punches right in the face) are all important and universal themes we can all understand. It’s got lots of detail and a good amount of world building.
