I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, and the second is even better. The author and I must have loved the same type of stories in our earlier days — this book has the feel of all of them, but is it’s own strong stand-alone tale, with twists and turns that sometimes come as a surprise, and other times are foreshadowed enough to create a sense of anticipation, making the reader rather like an attendee at a surprise party, just waiting to see the characters’ reactions to the discovery you know is coming.

Just the right balance of romantic yearning and swashbuckling adventure to produce a story that thrills, delights, and leaves you wanting more.
