Man, the first half of this book is such a slog to get through! I was so glad when floor 7 collapsed because that was also supposed to be some kind of racing thing in a maze or something. Then he actually drops a race here. I mean, there was no real story elements, no gear upgrades (wtf?!), no real achievement rewards, no gear upgrades, no gear upgrades, Mordecai wasn’t really anywhere to be seen and there was no clever use of abilities. idk man this felt like a giant ass filler book that really didn’t progress the story at all in any way until floor 11 which was like 10 chapters. I’m definitely disappointed in this book but it does leave a very interesting cliff hanger. ughhh now to wait however long to get another good book…
