What can I say about this series that hasn’t been said? Well written characters that you fall in love with, sympathize with or hate. Regardless you can understand where they are coming from and likely how they got to be who they are, even if you despise them.
The heroes of the story are amazingly well written and their emotional (and brutal) journey pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The villains should always be the hero of their own story, and in this case once again they are once again well fleshed out and why they are who they are can be well seen and understood even when you might hate them for it.
All this, and yet amusing? Even hilarious? Yes, that’s right grounded in absurdist humor that at times can make you laugh out loud, and other times make you smile even when characters you love are in danger for their very lives.
All this, and almost impossibly improved by the voice talents of Jeff Hayes. As he has with all the other audible renditions of this series brings all of these characters to life. Even the periodic characters voiced by a supporting cast are done with heart and supplied voices that fit the person you pictured as you read or listened.
Would I recommend it? If you’re still reading that should be obvious but I will go further and say you should make it a priority to immerse yourself in this world as soon as possible, you need this in your life even if you don’t yet know it.
