This poor guy! He just can’t seem to say No and it keeps him in a lot of hot water. He wants everyone to place nice and get along, but that’s just not going to happen. Then skeletons appear after having been buried on the side of the road which starts a whole investigative adventure.

The story is interesting and the characters are, well, characters. It’s one of those kinds of series that is just comfortable. You feel like you know the players and can sit back and enjoy the show.

One of the things I really liked about this book was how it brought in history of the area and how slaves were treated. I hadn’t heard about using markers to identify slaves and that is an nice obscure tidbit to throw in there.
