I can understand why some readers didn’t like this book but I was intrigued and enjoyed the journey. This is a story about grief, anger, bitterness, and past pain. If anyone has gone through a tragedy, they would understand why Sybil is difficult to take. At first, she comes off annoying, a snob but if you keep reading, you will see a mother who is in agony and is aching for forgiveness. It makes me wonder why some DNF’d this story. You have to look past the words and see the pain this woman is going through. I like the different narrators and some of these letters were interesting. She had supportive friends and maybe in the back of her mind she wondered why anyone would care about her. It is because they saw past the negative. She needed something to help her heal and if you finish it, you’ll see what she wants and desperately needs. Give it a chance and put yourself in her place.
