It reads like a “girl power” book. A whole bunch of drama and filler that has no reason being there. It’s very dramatic yet action-less. The description of the title is also misleading. It makes you believe that the story will be about people preparing for war. The “war” is such a small part of the story and then the rest is about feelings. This books is comparable to what twilight is to vampires vs werewolves. This book had Avatar The Last Airbender feels and it could of been written great with more of the other nations, why they are battling, the secrets of the emperor, how the state got to that level, the other nations and their parts in the world… literally limitless potential. Do not recommend this book in the section of military, sci-fi and fantasy. It’s a female’s memoir about her feelings and emotions.
