Reader was great as always, book was subpar at best. Incredibly unrealistic characters, Weak women being put in positions of power during the Apocalypse is some kind of liberal fairy tale and it’s a shame to see this author pushing it. Both the lead female character and male character becoming officers in a couple of months of training amidst special forces and other soldiers is wild. Her being his commanding officer when she was a liberal college student with a worthless degree pursuit and he was ROTC is even worse. The President of the United States having almost no clue how things work in the world, being confused or uninformed about secret bases and military operations, and magically becoming a sniper equivalent to a Russian Spetsnaz in a few months of training is just insane writing. There was some entertaining character stories, the writing was easy to read and entertaining, but man this series is going downhill for content.
