Decent story but I couldn’t get onboard with the narrators

First, the story was sweet with a nice amount of spice and angst. It would be a decent read.
I had the hardest time getting past the narration. I had to look up where the narrators were from because they put so much emphasis on the accents that it seemed fake. I found it distracted from the value of the story.
