I know everyone raves about this series, but I have to be the dissenting voice. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to the audio preview before you buy.
I found the book incredibly monotonous. It’s the same cycle on repeat: enter a new floor, fight slightly reskinned monsters, get a loot box, make a snarky comment, rinse and repeat. The story honestly goes nowhere for massive stretches, and the constant system notifications and stat readouts become exhausting white noise.
If the humor and pacing in the 5-minute preview don’t absolutely hook you, trust me, it’s not for you.
