It’s a shame that between two authors and the editors of a CME event book, that they never even bothered to google what would happen if a CME hit the earth. It would only affect those things that are plugged in. Cars and electronics that are not plugged in would be fine, and do not need a Faraday cage. Those things would only be affected in a high altitude EMP event, and not a CME.
