I went into this looking to fill the void of catching up on DCC, and it helped a bit but just isn’t at the same caliber in my opinion. I do think this cleave me Avery clear view of Matt Dinniman as an author and I feel like I understand his voice a lot more now that I’ve seen a story from another universe, the message from the book is clear that empathy has to be part of who we are as humans, otherwise we are going to stop being human. Love that message, and I love the way it was delivered, but the story itself was really hard for me to get into and I didn’t feel super connected to any of the characters, except Roger. I also thought the beginning was a bit slow and the ending almost a bit rushed, but overall I thought it was fun and had good themes!
