This book is simply too much fun! There are culture misinterpretations, language misinterpretation, planned and inadvertent silliness. The author is excellent at invoking visualization of incidents as well as individuals and settings. Although it moves along at a rapid pace, there is no difficulty in keeping up and laughing away any current negative perception of reality. If you have ever seen a french braid, with it’s way of adding more into each plait as it comes into being, you have a visual on the way that this book moves ever onward, getting better and funnier as it moves along. I’m not into reviews giving recaps or spoilers, but that would be a daunting task for one who did choose to do so. Simply be aware that the publisher’s blurb is simply a teaser from the beginning of the book and that it only continues merrily from there.
I had the audio version, and Joel Froomkin performed it magnificently!
