- Have you listened to any of Jeff Hays’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
- I haven’t but I’ll be checking out his catalogue of work now. His range is impressive. The first time a female character spoke in this novel, I had to go back and check that it wasn’t two narrators.
- Any additional comments?
- When I read the summary for this book I was intrigued but I wasn’t sure what to expect from a journalism suspense novel set against a backdrop of 9/11. I’m glad I ended up giving this book a chance. The story drags at times which is what took it from a 4-star to a 3-star, but I enjoyed the protagonist, Alex and found Camila to be interesting, if a bit odd. There are plenty of twists and turns and possible clues or links to examine. Overall, I think this was worth the listening time.
I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
