- What did you love best about Of Light and Darkness?
- In a crowded genre, this story is so refreshing and unique. The world building is intricate, and as I was introduced to the Occult City, I felt the same way I had when I first was introduced to Hogwarts. Truly magical. I especially loved Joel Froomkin’s narration. His storytelling is masterful. I found myself enraptured. I totally forgot there was only one person speaking.
- What was one of the most memorable moments of Of Light and Darkness?
- Each of the musical themes added to usher in the various characters made many parts very memorable. I thought the sound design was delicate while being interactive with the story–not distracting at all. The characters were the most memorable parts of the story. The giant spider shape-shifter, the enchanted scarecrow…each of them were dynamic and lovable. Even the baddies!
- What does Joel Froomkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
- Joel Froomkin’s voice made this a cinematic experience. He pulls the listener into the world and leaves you hanging on every word. His Valek is sultry. His Charlotte is relatable. Every dialect is well-crafted and believable. He gives OLAD and whole cast of characters. Mr. Froomkin vocally painted the picture and added an entirely new dimension to Leighton’s world. This audiobook is not to be missed!
- If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
- Love against the impossible
