- Would you listen to The Assassination of Heydrich again? Why?
- Yes. I’m a history buff, especially World War Two. I’m familiar with the story of Heydrich’s assassination, the horrendous aftermath. The author’s work gives background regarding the people and events leading up to it. For me and I assume other history aficionados, it goes far explaining the event.
- What was one of the most memorable moments of The Assassination of Heydrich?
- To me the history of the area and people that lived and the everyday social situations were memorable. And the Czech Resistance locally and to the exiled leadership’s connection with Great Britain.
- Have you listened to any of Mark Kamish’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
- This is the first. Though more familiar with the German WRITTEN spellings and far from my being an expert, Mark Kamish did a very good job with pronunciations of locations and names. He has an easy to listen to and understandable voice. The performance kept an appropriate pace with suitable dramatic timing to it.
- Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
- I listened in several separate sections. The story and presentation were very well done, I just had to do some other things
- Any additional comments?
- The historic event is interesting and of great importance because of the brave acts that inspired others oppressed under the Nazis threat.
Jan G. Wiener gives a personal insight into the events. It added to my understanding and admiration of the Czech people and their actions.Thank you for the opportunity to review this title!
