Luckily, when smart, prepared women and girls are in trouble, wise, strong men are there to take over and save the day. There are two main plotlines in the book, each featuring a much-admired woman who has to be saved (and lets herself be saved) by an even more admirable alpha male…

It bugs me because the characters *talk* modern day equality of the sexes, but the plot and problem-solving privilege the alpha males as the source of all ideas and knowledge.

Otherwise, pretty predictable story focused on how the awesome prepared prepper saves the day.

The writing is fine, but the omniscient narration includes the dog’s perspective, which was jarring at first.
