The third floor of Dungeon Crawler Carl introduces a whole new layer of chaos with race and class selection. While many second books in a series are a lull, this book is quite the opposite. This book builds upon the first, expanding our knowledge of the dungeon and the larger universe. There are elements of the book that are a bit more crass than the previous, but it is appropriate to the complexities of the dungeon.
Again, Jeff Hays really makes this book what it is. While I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy the written versions, Hays’ portrayal of Carl and Donut are superb.
