At the time of this writing, I have read the entire three book series, and I have to say that this is the best book of the three. I LOVE them all, but this one is so imaginative and out of the ordinary. I really liked it a lot.
The hero is now out of his comfort zone, and on the move with his companions, and gets stretched farther than he was hoping to be. The situation that the world is in takes a little bit of a suspension of reality to accept (to the average reader, anyway) but once that is done the plot is very enjoyable and moves along at such a brisk pace that it is hard to find places to take a break!
Kevin Pierce and I have had our differences in the past. I have not enjoyed all of his narrations, but these books are the best of his work (IMO) by far. I actually really liked his reading. Great book!
