It pains me to write a bad review of Jeff Hays. Ive been a big fan and have directed countless fans to his production of Dungeon Crawler Carl. I love Soundbooth Theater and think Jeff is a top notch narrator, however this audible production missed the mark. There is terrible underlying background noise through much of this recording that I would compare to a skipping, scratched cd. Super distracting and unpleasant to the point where I won’t be purchasing the next book in the series in Audible format. And as talented as Jeff may be, whoever voices the minotaur blacksmith (either Annie or Laurie), should be unequivocally fired. The minotaur is the single worst voice over I’ve heard and that’s coming from someone who has listened to 300+ Audible narrations and watched 80% of anime in existence. Lirian’s voice actress also read her character in a flat and woefully underwhelming performance as well. Stick to talents like Jeff and drop the poor additions to the team. And please, please take more pride in the quality of the work presented. The prior three books didn’t have these issues but they also didn’t have all the additional distracting soundbytes. My two cents.
