This book was very well-written, as I typically expect from Jack Olsen. I felt as if I was taken into the psyche of the people involved in planning and executing the murder and I had conflicting and ever-changing emotions about the key players. Both of Dave and Cindy clearly had some psychological issues and their relationship was the perfect storm. I did not find myself sympathetic to either but I did find that the chain of events was laid out in a way that I was not surprised along the way. Kim’s involvement in the conclusion was a bit more emotionally surprising. This reenactment of the Campbell story was so well done that I kept losing track of the fact that this was based on true events. The storyline was well laid out.
I always look forward to listening to Jack Olsen. He does an amazing job narrating and expressing the seriousness of True Crime novels without a drone, boring tone.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This did not impact my review in any way.
