The trials and tribulations that these characters encountered were silly and self inflicted. This in itself made this book an easy read. I just felt all warm and gushy about this couple from beginning to end. There was no unexpected heart-wrenching surprise twist, as the details of their tough times to come were basically laid out from the beginning and expected. I enjoy these feel good love stories from time to time and this was the perfect read for me this week. I didn’t have enough of myself to invest in an emotional upheaval and I am grateful for the light storyline.
Joel brought Michael to life and his pace and tone kept the story flowing naturally. His female voices were a bit off-putting initially, but this is typical of a male narrator. By the 3rd or 4th chapter it flowed and I no longer noticed. I really enjoyed the narration and will look for future works by Joel.
At the conclusion of Michael and Lauren’s story, I find myself wanting more… I am adding Amalie to my list of authors to watch for! Definitely worth a credit!
