When I’m fed up with hot Billionaires, sexy Vampires, dashing Dukes and Alpha Were-shifters then I know that S E Smith’s books will amaze, dazzle and launch me to distant galaxies where oversized love starved Alien Warriors live. But first, they get caught up in imaginative and world-building stories here on Earth that are always entertaining, exciting….. and sexy too.
Trivator Razor does his job well with very little emotional involvement (reminded me of Spock) but that all changes when he is rescued by Kali a human woman who was every bit as capable of a Warrior as he was. He became captivated by her and spied on what she was doing but his duty was calling for the annihilation of the two warring factions, that split the now ravaged Chicago, in two. Kali is a strong character, a fierce protector of her brother and a very skilled warrior and she doesn’t appreciate being followed by the feared Alien Razor who flattens cities on command. But when he kisses her things change because he claims her…. but she does NOT, in no way, want to be claimed – not by him and not by anyone so let the fun and games begin.
Worth a credit? Interesting and likeable characters, an exciting plot that’s full of drama, angst and a slow, but passionate, ‘claiming’ which will eventually transport Kali to a strange Planet far far away. However, even then there’s an unwanted and unexpected surprise waiting to upset the lover’s new, and hard won, harmony. Dual POV, a great narrator and, if you, like me, love Sci-Fi romances then S E Smith’s books are one of my favorites and are, IMO, very creditworthy.
