I loved the first book and got the second hoping it would be just as good. in the first book though it seemed like any minority was either a thug or a traitor…and it continues on to this book. I mean come on man, you can’t have one decent speaking black man or Hispanic guy? i know there are bad guys out there, there are thugs and so on but give us a break… The military jargon was good, but when I was enlisted we didn’t speak in code all the time. sure we used abbreviations but we didn’t take it to an extent like some of these characters did. my fellow Marines and I just made perverted comments half the time but we didn’t speak to one another in military jargon in our down time. The last part that bugged me was the whole relationship drama between couples, I mean the united States is being invaded, millions of people are dying… and this clan is concerned about people cheating on each other? jeeesus. It seemed like the drama was added as a filler or something to get the story moving along. I’ve ended up skipping that whole drama nonsense. and also, who did the author use as a reference for how teenagers speak? it seemed ljke he want back to 2001 and used lingo from then. I’m still going to get the third book when and or if it comes out.
