I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. The tough ex-military lead character is not quite stereotypical but close. He is led by a moral compass and this causes most of the trials and tribulations he encounters throughout the story. We are placed on hold at the beginning of the story recapping how the characters have progressed to where we now see them. The action builds, but the big battle just seems elusive as minor plots unfold. The action is good and the story does move forward. I would have liked it a bit more if the story line just wasn’t so predictive and watered down. Not a bad series. I don’t think I would read any more in this series.
