- Would you listen to Winter’s Edge again? Why?
- Definitely! Its a gritty, well thought out adventure in an after the collapse of civilization setting. That’s the first reason. And it’s narrated by Kevin Pierce.
- What other book might you compare Winter’s Edge to and why?
- Society tries to resume some semblance of order and safety. Containment of wrong doers is a concern. In a more realistic manner than the Mad Max series, the Stand, On The Beach by Neville Shute regards maintaining semblence of normalcy. There are similarities. There are elements of revenge for the murders of Frank Brogan’s wife and daughter. The Outlaw Josie Wales, for example. Some of the same elements of all of these examples are contained in Winter’s Edge. IWinter’s Edge shares some of the same motivation.
- What about Kevin Pierce’s performance did you like?
- I have had the pleasure of listening to a half dozen or more works read by Kevin Pierce. He can give a feeling of “truism” to fiction, or tug a heartfelt sense of loss and sorrow, or joy when he performs. I had a sense that this was reality instead of fictional. He’s that good.
- Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
- Sadness at Brogan’s loss, at the failure of society. And when justice was in sight, vindication for Brogan.
- Any additional comments?
- This is such an entertaining beginning to what promises to be a very good series. Thanks for the opportunity to listen and review Winter’s Edge. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com.
