This is the first book in an awesome urban fantasy series. I actually started this series with book three and I just went back and listened to the first book, and looking back on it now, it is definitely a better idea to start with book one. I’ve really enjoyed both of the books that I’ve listened to. The books are action packed, with no boring section in the middle where it just seems to drag. The action starts in chapter one and is nonstop until the end. The author did a great job with all the characters, and some of their dialog really made me chuckle. The narrator did an amazing job. He nailed the main character perfectly with the voice he chose. It really brought him to life. The narrator also did a great job mixing in sound effects like coughing and laughing. Those additions really make the story stand out for me. I only have one real complaint with this book, and that’s that the author doesn’t seem to know the difference between a clip and magazine. That’s one of my pet peeves, but if you don’t know the different or just don’t care, then it should be fine. Overall, the book is good enough for me to overlook that. Not only is this a great book, but Ghosts & Magic is a great series.
