We, our little group here, all loved the writer’s others works on Audible, North Star in particular. That made getting this one fait accompli. Although Ms. Jensen isn’t at her best here, her skills as a writer keep this one at a level that make it a good listen. When it comes to romance, I found the storyline of Once Upon A Summer pretty weak, the main storyline being the relationship between teacher Charlie Brooks and her eight year old student Luke. This wouldn’t have been an issue either were it not for the ridiculously unrealistic ending and the feeling that the ending having been written at the beginning of the creative process was a difficult place to get to; thus the awkwardness of the narrative in getting there. This is the fourth book I’ve purchased by this writer and is the content the weakest of the four, however with this author it speaks more about the other selections than it does this one; while falling short of her previous efforts this is still a good listen.
