It’s one of the most suggested audiobooks and that’s absolutely because of Jeff Hays’ performance.
I will admit, after listening to the sample I was put off with how “over the top” Carl’s voice seemed to be. Some time later I saw a clip of the narrator performing all the voices and was just blown away, the man is ridiculously talented.
I’m definitely glad I gave it a second shot and I’ll be listening g to the whole series more than once I’m sure.
