Ellis is a typical university student. Trying to pass classes and makes ends meet, he gets a job at a local late night food joint to pay the bills. However his simple job of making and delivery food gets him in a lot of trouble when he finds he’s not delivery food but illegal drugs.

He tries to get himself out, but his idiot friends only (accidentally) get him in deeper. And then people start dying around him.

Dalton crafts an interesting, funny and suspense filled thriller-comedy. He uses anachronistic statements wonderfully to build the mystery and suspense (“But I didn’t find this out for another two days”). The story is not complicated, but isn’t predictable. Its fast, funny and a enjoyable quick read.

I picked this book up without knowing who the narrator was, because the blurb caught my interest. And then I saw the narrator is Jeff Hays, who I really enjoy. Bonus! As always Hays does good work. Crisp, clear and well paced, filled with emotion and character voices. A pleasure to listen to.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
