If you’re a young boy, you’d probably love this book. But I’m not, and I really wanted to like it. I didn’t think it was funny at all. It was rather immature and if it wasn’t for Jeff Hays’ narration it wouldn’t have held my attention.
However, the story holds a good idea and is well-written and well-plotted, but when I look at it as a comedy it fails in my mind and I felt the comedy aspect of the book is overdone.
Jeff is always impressive in his performance and I love this guy. I did laugh sometimes, but only because Jeff does everything so convincing and fools you into believing there’s more than one narrator performing. I can’t come up with another narrator who can do this! Jeff Hays is a natural born performer. Great choice! I always grab a book narrated by Jeff and keep my hopes up!
