As an EMT/EMS instructor, I was aware of 98% of the medical details of his stories. Having said that, I think anyone without this knowledge would appreciate what was being done. Dr. Seward explains very well what some of the more in depth procedures were being performed and and why.
His stories were filled with compassion and gratitude for a long and fulfilling career as an “ER Doc” in the ED. There were stories of wonderful outcomes, and unfortunate ones as well as a few tearful events as his early career in pediatrics.
If one has even the slightest interest or curiosity in medicine, I think they would find this book quite interesting and entertaining.
