Something happens that knocks out the power and Greyson is prepared, but his family is all split up. But they quickly get together and are no longer important. Locals are in awe of Greyson so are a constant annoyance. If you’re really pathetic, Greyson will take you in. In book 4 another disaster occurs and proves you can only be prepped once. In the final chapter the author doubles down on the ambiguity. Bottom line sh-t happens and that’s sh-tty.
The books aren’t very fulfilling but the narration is very good.
