This is the story about an Evangelical reactionary killer who almost learns to be a good person. The author tells him engaging story, but his politics interwoven into the plot are laughable. I tried one of his books before and quit about 50 pages in. if you view the world as totally black and white, good and bad, you will like this book and this author by default. aside from having the politics of an 8-year-old, the author knows how to tell a story. The action is well-paced and engaging. The narration is so so. The narrator does not have a real broad spectrum of emotion. but that’s to be expected because the characters themselves are fairly two dimensional. with that in mind, you have a good story with minimal characters. in hindsight, this assessment gives me a little more insight into the personality of the author.
