The ongoing story of Carl and Princess Donuts adventures to survive are played out in Dinnaman’s masterful, complex world building that is as horrific as it is satirical. I never know what is going to happen next. I particularly like the relationship between Carl and Donut, frustrating, accepting, touching and when it counts…celebratory. Being a decades long citizen of Washington the “Ending Skit” making fun of the difficulty pronouncing our beautiful Native American names made me laugh uproariously. Almost worth the price of the book alone. Jeff Hayes is, to date, the best voice artist I have ever heard. He is worth the price if the book.
