I’ve loved the series so far but am so disappointed with this book. Somehow the yeti who has nowhere near the same stats using powers that the book admits is outdated, less efficient, and supposedly takes a toll on the soul (even though everyone who uses the power is never really negatively affected by using the power) is the ultimate badass who just can’t be defeated. Even though the Yeti is new to the realm and doesn’t know much about it or the abilities/powers the chosen uses… somehow has every countermeasure imaginable and again has less stats but can think and move just as fast as everyone else can. This books makes the idea of stats as explained in others basically useless. This Yeti is sooooo strong that Ryun who advance enough to break the system still is too weak to do anything against the Yeti. Worse part is Ryun who used to be this big badass is nerfed to this tantrum throwing toddler who can’t finish or hold tru to his word. Even though there is supposed to only be 1 more book after this I don’t know if I can go through 25+ more hours of fighting a Yeti who has unlimited power with no downsides.
