Didn’t have the highest of the expectations, although I enjoy the science fiction genre, usually the world building gets so intense that I have a hard time following along with all the characters, monsters, etc. This particular book and hopefully the series itself- do a fantastic job of tying what I know is “real world” lore into “fantasy” lore.
